First Post - Progress Overview
What we have so far:
We made basic networking using Photon Pun so that two Oculus Quests can communicate with each other. It is usable for now but we have to come back later.
The core functionality is now working for 2 players rather consistently. We want to further work on it so you don't have to redo the synchronization process sometimes. Nonetheless it is a proof of concept for us and we are assured that we can make it work smoothly.
In the video you see our first version in action. At first the characters are loaded into the scene arbitrarily. That is also what would happen, if you tried to play any existing multiplayer VR game with two players in one room. Even though the characters move according to the players, the positions are completely wrong.
At about 0:20 the both players synchronize, so their in-game-position match their real ones.
It is already a pretty neat effect and quite funny to mess around.
